Nothing can match the joy and delight that a school gets after being recognised for its student's achievement on a larger platform. Similar is the impact made by the victorious win of our young budding artist, Kabir Malhotra of Grade III, in the painting competition conducted by TERI and TETRA-PAK Project Search. He made a clean sweep among 150 entries received from 28 schools at India Habitat Centre during the launch ceremony at Stein Auditorium. This win came with a dual benefit - inspiring other students towards bigger goals and motivating people towards the cause of 'Environmental Conservation'
It is itself an honour to appreciate the effort of our young artist. Congratulations on the wonderful recognition of your brilliant work Kabir. Aim for the new milestones!
Presidium never misses on any opportunity for facilitating a better perspective to students. Considering the sensitivity of a common question 'What Next?', an educational workshop for the students of Class XIth and XIIth was conducted. For the commemoration of Earth Week, students of Grades Nursery and Prep gathered together for a special assembly on Earth Day. The awareness programmes commenced with a short enactment on Taking Care of Our Mother Earth. Further, a skit was showcased by teachers in which Mother Earth was shown despondently pleading to the people who don't care for her. This made the entire issue more meaningful for the young learners. Teachers beautifully demonstrated the detrimental effect due to cutting down of tress, wasting electricity and water, noise and air pollution through vehicles. The slogans and posters in the demonstration reflected the appropriate solutions for the care and safety of earth by plantation of more trees, car pooling, making judicial use of resources, etc.
The dramatization effect helped students to connect with the issue easily. The discussion afterwards was convincing enough for students' understanding that they are truly motivated for the cause of saving Earth. It was a moment of proud hearing that children will ask their parents to follow the measures demonstrated.
Following the schedule, a club activity on 22nd April, International Earth Day was organized in which children watched audio-visuals about 'Save Earth' and exhibited their learning and ideas through drawings.
We strongly believe in instilling values like caring for the environment from a very young age. This small effort goes a long way for a greater good of the planet.
To celebrate World Heritage Day, Presidium organised an assembly as well as an informative field trip called 'Itihaas Walk' for young Presidians. Recognising India's rich and vibrant culture, Presidians hosted an assembly where they shared their thoughts and views on heritage and its significance. Setting the tone of the assembly with this beautiful thought that 'A people's relationship to their heritage is the same as the relationship of a child to his mother'; Presidians set out for the exciting 'Itihaas Walk'! They visited various historical monuments and discussed the importance of celebrating world heritage day. Paying tribute to India's wonderful heritage, our young intellectuals also shared their thoughts on the need to protect and conserve our extraordinary cultural heritage!
A large group of young achievers from Presidium were acknowledged for their exemplary achievements in various fields like academics, sports etc; at the Chairperson Honours meet on 22 April, 2015.
