CELEBRATIONS OF REPUBLIC DAY
The 61st Republic day was celebrated with lots of zeal and patriotism on 25th January, 2010 in all the Presidium schools. Spirits soared as children sang the National Anthem to the beat of the drums. Children participated in the cultural program which included exemplary performances on the foot tapping numbers such as Jai Ho, Ma tujhe salam and the School Song "We are the leaders, the leaders of tomorrow, we are Presidians." The kids performed with enormous energy and fun.
This special day was made a unique and extraordinary one because each child and staff member took a stand to make a difference to their country on the website www.istandfor.in. Some of the issues which students took pledge for were
I stand for ...... Patriotism.
I stand for ...... leadership.
I stand for ...... happiness.
I stand for ...... society.
Everyone took a pledge for being 'Unstoppable' so that they could serve their country. Each student wore a badge stating 'I AM UNSTOPPABLE'.
PRESIDIANS AT THE HERO HONDA FIH WORLD CUP 2010
The International Hockey Federation gave a great opportunity to the students of Presidium to cheer for Indian hockey players and be a part of the Hero Honda FIH world cup 2010. The proud Presidians represented India as School Mascots at the Hero Honda FIH world cup 2010, which was held in India at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, New Delhi.
Presidians welcomed the six participating teams with zeal and gusto. The Presidians enjoyed each and every moment of the match was and cherished this day to the fullest. They sang their very own "school song", and famous "chak de India" song to encourage the players.
This event gave some wonderful and life time moments to Presidians. The experience of being in the stadium, the aroma of field, the drops of splashing water, the chirping of spectators, whistles of security guards to follow the path, excitement of spectators, first close look at the national and international hockey players, shaking hands with the President, being clicked with them, and many other things were inspiring and unforgettable for Presidians.
The golden opportunity to welcome national and international players and that first experience at the world cup ground left some cherished memories with Presidians.
HIGHLIGHTS OF JANUARY
Project of the month : 'BEING UNSTOPPABLE'
Every month we take up a project with children which aims at inculcating a life skill in them. In January, we have a project which will inspire and motivate our children to be unstoppable in every sphere of life and not get stopped by fear or failures. Under this project we will make our children:-
* Watch a movie on Wright Brothers
* Watch a clipping from Lakshya movie
* Show them the success stories of a few unstoppable heroes
* Play unstoppable games and activities wherein they will share their unstoppable acts or take a pledge to do something new which they were fearful of doing earlier.
* Do some interesting activity sheets.
* Each child will be given 'I am Unstoppable' badge.
To enlighten the spirit of Patriotism, Republic Day will be celebrated on 25th Jan. Highlights of the day will be:-
* Dance on Patriotic numbers
* Flag Hoisting
* Quiz on Republic Day
* Children will be given 'I am Unstoppable' badge designed in tricolors. Children will also participate in a project named 'Our Nation..Our Pride... ' In this project children will share their views and interview their parents regarding their views about our country 'India'. They will take a stand on what positive change they and their parents would like to cause for their country. The children will post their stands on our website www.istandfor.in
WORLD HUG DAY
World Hug Day will be celebrated on 21st Jan'10. All the children and teachers will give 'Jaadu Ki Japhhi' to one and all. Children will undoubtedly enjoy this sweet activity which will infuse love, care and compassion in them. Give and take a hug a day to keep all your troubles away. A hug can heal anger and disappointments and fill your heart with love and warmth...
SO GIVE A HUG AND TAKE A HUG AND BE HAPPY!!!.
A fun filled learning experience for children , wherein children will come in pairs to say and enact the opposites. Children will also recite rhymes and songs on opposites.
ROCK N ROLL WITH CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL
The Christmas carnival organized by Presidium at Ashok Vihar and Dwarka on 19th, 20th and 25th December was a great success. Around 10,000 people visited and enjoyed thoroughly during the carnival. This being the most exciting and happening carnival in town, had something interesting in store for everybody, be it children or adults.
Exciting games, yummy food stalls, non stop foot tapping music, adventure sports, tattoos ,magic show and tambola captivated and enthralled one and all. The real show stealer was the inter club dance competition by our dynamic Presidium which left everyone awestruck.
The Christmas carnival beautifully got the entire family of Presidium together, celebrating the jingle bells of Christmas and welcoming the stupendous New Year ahead.
ATHLETIC MEET ON WORLD DISABILITY DAY
A mega Athletic Meet to celebrate the abilities and talents of mentally challenged children was organized by Sparsh NGO & Bharat Special Olympics on 3rd Dec. on the special occasion of World Disability Day at Presidium School, Ashok Vihar Phase II, New Delhi.
Presidium Senior Secondary School and Mother's Pride supported the NGO Sparsh to organize the event in a grand way. This initiative primarily aimed to bring acceptance to special children. The event was organized in association with Bharat Special Olympics which is the Indian division of Special Olympics at New York. The unforgettable occasion started off with the inaugural torch run and ended with prize distribution which brought a glint of hope and happiness in the eyes of participants.
211 special children from 15 special schools participated in the competitions like skating and bocce, and came out with flying colors. All these children were given participation medals & certificates from SPARSH, which brought a smile to these tremendously talented stars. For support of these children, along with their parents and teachers, 35 Presidium Children were also there who volunteered to conduct various activities.
The stunning performances of these little stars thrilled the attendants and filled their teachers with proud and tears of happiness. The sight of these children showcasing the best of their talents and abilities electrified the environment and certainly filled every person's heart with pride.
Mrs. Sudha Gupta, the renowned parenting expert and principal of Presidium, delivered an inspiring speech that touched and moved each and every soul present in the event. Mr. M.P Singh , the president of Sparsh and Dr. P.S.Narang , who is presently running Savera rehabilitation centre were also there to motivate the special children.
The grand event was also memorable as it was attended by various dignitaries like Mr. Narender Singh Bundella ,DCP of North- West Delhi and Mr. Dey, Area- Director, Bharat Special Olympics.
PRESIDIUM EXCELS IN ACADEMICS AS WELL!
An 'Academic Excellence Fair' was organized at Presidium Dwarka, Pitampura and Gurgaon on 28th November and at Presidium Ashok Vihar and Noida - 61 on 29th November. The fair was a magnificent exhibition that revealed academic knowledge, talent and skills of the bright Presidians who presented their ground-breaking and futuristic ideas through various projects, models, demonstrations, experiments and presentations.
The fair was an astounding initiative by all the Presidium Clubs (Victors, Supremes, Maestros, Legends, Leaders and Elites) to exhibit their prowess and mastery in the field of academics.The show definitely was a revolution raising the literary standards, mathematical abilities, scientific temperament, social awareness, I.T innovations and creative talents of students.
This Academic Excellence Fair was an Inter Club Competition wherein there were various categories of awards such as Best Exhibition, Best Concept and Best Showcase.
GOLDEN PEACOCK AWARD
On 9th Oct., 2009 Mother's Pride brought pride to India by winning the prestigious Golden Peacock Award in London. This brings international limelight on the innovative work being done by Delhi's premium chain of Pre-schools. Mrs. Sudha Gupta received the award in London in a glittering ceremony. She also presented a paper on the need for out of the box thinking in education. Rated among the top most educational institutions world wide, Mother's Pride was adjudged by a highly accomplished jury.
The award ceremony was held in the presence of a renowned panel of judges including Dr. Ola Ullsteu (Former Prime Minister of Sweden), Mr. Joe Clark (Former Prime Minister of Canada) and various other eminent personalities.
LASTING IMPRESSIONS - PRESIDIUM ANNUAL DAY 2009
Grandeur, talent and thrill was all over the Siri Fort auditorium on 20th Sept. as 1500 students of Presidium secondary School showcased their abilities as part of the mega Annual Day.
The theme of the event was 'Lasting Impressions'. The entire event was organized by the students of Management Academy and the show was hosted by the students of Mass Communication Academy. Each academy showcased their skills and talent leaving the audience awestruck. The Theatre academy crafted a thought provoking drama on 'Be What You Want to Be' while the Sports Academy presented breathtaking acrobats and skating. The students of Social Cause Academy roused patriotism in all the parents and grandparents. The Fun Academy danced to a melody of humorous songs leaving the audience in splits. The thrilling Clubs Show where in the Presidents of each of six clubs took oath was the showstopper. The students and the parents together sung the inspiring school song 'Be what you want to be' with gusto.
The occasion was also special because the renowned parenting expert Mrs. Sudha Gupta, who is also the principal of Presidium, released a beautiful book set containing thoughtful books on Positive Parenting.
The event was dedicated to 'Savera Special School' being constructed at Rohini sec- 5 by Sparsh, an NGO supported by Presidium and Mother's Pride. The mega event was graced by the talented duo Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan who presented a cheque of 51 lakhs to the NGO. The mentally challenged students, who were trained by Shaimak Dawar group, gave a heart rendering dance performance.
Mrs. Sudha Gupta obviously brimming with pride said, "Through today's theme 'Lasting Impressions', we want to tell the parents and the whole world that our young generation has all the abilities to leave a mark like the famous personalities. We just need to give them opportunities and freedom to grab those opportunities." Empowerment of mentally challenged children being a cause close to her heart, she appealed to the audience saying, "Do you think these special children who danced so well have been somewhere neglected. Let's come together to bring out the abilities in these special children as well."
As the theme suggests, the students left an lasting impression on the minds of some twenty thousand parents and grandparents who witnessed the spectacular show.
