LEARNING, AMUSEMENT & ADVENTURE- PRESIDIANS EXPERIENCE IT ALL AT NATIONAL RAIL MUSEUM
In our constant endeavour to provide rich and engaging learning experiences to students, an exciting trip to National Rail Museum was organized for our young Presidians under the theme ‘Vacation’.
All the students seemed extremely excited as they got the opportunity to explore different kinds of engines, trains, coaches and wagons. They also learned about the fuel used to run the trains. The students were also taken to the indoor gallery where they enjoyed watching the working models, equipment, photographs of vintage trains along with the furniture used in trains. They were delighted to see the miniature models of the trains.
The highlight of the day was the joyful ‘Toy Train’ ride organized for the students. They enjoyed singing the song 'chai chai coffee coffee' which is a part of the theme and was shown to them before the visit.
The visit proved to be extremely interesting and knowledgeable for the students. All of them thoroughly enjoyed their day while enhancing their knowledge about one of the most important means of transport- Railway.
PRESIDIUM’S FACULTY MEMBER HONOURED AT UNITED NATIONS@70 CONFERENCE
In yet another proud moment for our Academic Leadership, our esteemed faculty member, Sri Vishal Sagar, PGT Political Science, from Presidium Gurgaon Senior, presented a research paper which has been awarded with the ‘Best Paper of the Conference’ at the ‘UNITED NATIONS @70’ conference. The event was organized by Amity Law School-II, on 4th and 5th February, in collaboration with the Indian Society of International Law at Amity Campus, Noida. It was judged by the distinguished panel including famous personalities like Dr. Narender Singh, Member, International Law Commission; Prof. CSR Murthy, JNU; Prof. SK Verma, Chairperson, International Society of International Law; and Dr. Devyani Khobragade, IFS.
PRESIDIANS RAISE AWARENESS AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING
Global warming is a slow and steady rise in the Earth’s surface temperature. It is a big environmental and social issue all over the world. It’s imperative to know its causes, effects and preventive measures. With the aim of raising awareness against this environmental calamity, the students from Grade Vth of Presidium, Dwarka 16B, came together to raise their voice against it on 2 February.
The students dramatized their theme by personifying the Earth, Sun, its rays and the three harmful gases Carbon dioxide, Methane and Nitrous Oxide. They demonstrated how due to the presence of increased amount of these harmful gases in the atmosphere the Sun rays are unable to escape from Earth’s atmosphere and get trapped there, thus increasing its temperature.
The students discussed different ways to get rid of the harmful gases from our atmosphere. Some of these steps include: Planting as many trees as possible as plants absorb carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, saving electricity by replacing regular light bulbs with CFL bulbs, conserving energy by using energy saving appliances, turning off lights when not in use etc.
PRESIDIUM DWARKA 22 PAYS TRIBUTE TO INDIAN ARMED FORCES
The students of Presidium, Dwarka 22, took pride in paying a TRIBUTE TO INDIAN ARMED FORCES on 1st February, with great enthusiasm, zeal and fervour. The objective behind the celebration was to honour and express gratitude to all those men and women who served their country with bravery, dedication and self sacrifice.
To mark the importance of the day, a special assembly was organized in the school. The day commenced with students singing the National Anthem and presenting patriotic performances that together kept the nationalistic fervour vibrantly alive.
Young Presidians of Grade I paid tribute to soldiers by reciting patriotic poems that evoked feelings of nationalism. The programme concluded with inspiring words of our honourable Vice Principal, Ms. Esha Shaunik, “to create the leaders of tomorrow and make sure the Tricolour of our country soars even higher and raise our own benchmark”.
PRESIDIUM GURGAON HOSTS CAREER COUNSELING SESSION FOR STUDENTS
Presidium, Gurgaon hosted a free career counselling session, on 30th January, for the students of Grades 8th, 9th and 10th. The session was conducted by professional counsellors to help students select the subject options in Class 11th. The speakers for the day were Mr. Rajiv Jain, a renowned business management professional with more than 22 years of corporate experience and Mr. Deepak Mukherjee, currently serving as Global Head of Internal Audit at Oil and Gas Construction Multinational owned by Laxmi Mittal. Ms. Kavita Raj was also a part of this esteemed panel.
The event witnessed a gathering of more than 200 people, including students from various schools, like DPS, Amity, and GD Goenka Gurgaon, accompanied by their parents. It was an interactive session where they shared their views on conventional notions about career choices and enlightened the children and parents on the difference between choosing a stream and a career. How it is important to not focus on the “top” colleges and professions, but to focus on choosing a career to fuel one’s passion and interests. Students were also told about various career options available after choosing various streams.
The highlight of the event was the idea that when you are determined to achieve something, no matter what the statistics or achievement tests say, most important is one’s belief in oneself.
PRESIDIUM HOSTS 3RD INTER PRESIDIUM CRICKET TOURNAMENT
Presidium hosted 3rd Inter Presidium Cricket Championship 2015-16 Finals on 29th January. The enthralling finals were between Team Ashok Vihar and Team Indirapuram on. Team Indirapuram finished with an impressive score of 79 in 20 overs, however, Ashok Vihar beat them with an outstanding score of 80 runs in 11.4 overs. Our budding cricket champ Ashutosh of Grade 9th from Ashok Vihar won the trophy for Best Bowler and the trophy for Man of the Match and Series was won by Aryan Dalal of Grade 8th. Presidium Indirapuram bagged the Runners up trophy. Advay Jagota of Presidium Indirapuram won the trophy for Best Batsman along with the Overall trophy. Let’s revel together in the glory of their victory. Congratulations to the students and the Coach!
PRESIDIANS MARK THEIR WAY TO GLORIOUS VICTORY AT POORV DELHI SPORTS
Our budding Table Tennis champions of Presidium, Dwarka 22, gave a much appreciated performance in the Table Tennis Competition organized at Poorv Delhi Sports Complex on 28th January 2016. Presidium Indirapuram also gave an outstanding performance and won an Overall trophy at the tournament. Our Presidians enthusiastically participated in the event and came out with flying colors in the same. Our children bagged 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze medal. The winners of the competition are: Rinsha Kharbanda- 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in U-17& U-1, Alankrita- 2 Gold medals in U-12 & U-15, Avisha- 1 Gold in U-10, Shrishti Lilhare- 1 Silver in U-10 category, and Riddhima- 1 Silver in U -12 categories. We congratulate all the winners and their Coach.
PRESIDIUM ASHOK VIHAR SHINES AT FRENCH OLYMPIAD
Presidium, Ashok Vihar, achieved astonishing feats at the French Olympiad. 76 champs from Presidium, Ashok Vihar participated at the Elementary Level, out of which 57 of them won medals. 41 of the champs participated in the Advanced Level, out of which 26 of them won medals. 3 of our champs participated in Proficiency Level out of which two of them won medals. Our champions grabbed 26 Gold Medals; 37 Silver Medals and 22 Bronze Medals. Well done, team Presidium.
PRESIDIAN ARMAAN WINS GOLD AT ALL INDIA OPEN ROLLER SKATING
Presidium Ashok Vihar’s skating champ Armaan Khanna is on a winning streak. He bagged a Gold Medal in All India Open Roller Skating 2016 championship. The event was held at Talkatora stadium on 28 January, where approximately 900 children from 40 school / clubs participated. Our chap gave an outstanding performance. Well done, Armaan.
PRESIDIAN WINS GOLD IN SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP AT MRIS
Our skating champs, Avishi Sinha and Anisha Yadav won Gold Medals in the skating championship held at the Manav Rachna International School. A total of 20 students from Presidium, Gurgaon, participated in the competition and bagged an overall trophy in the championship. Presidians, Avishi and Anisha won a Gold Medal each; Sneha won a Silver Medal; while Pari and Etesham won a Bronze Medal. Other schools like Sri Ram, GD Goenka, DPS (Sector 45 and 48), and Ryan International participated in the competition out of which Presidium Gurgaon gave an outstanding performance and made us proud.
