INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT PRESIDIUM

Presidium celebrated Independence Day on 13th August 2010 with great pride and fervour. The spirit of India's 64th Independence was high amongst the Presidians as they presented a cultural program. The celebration commenced with the march past. The club Presidents of Presidium escorted the guest of honour to hoist the National Flag. Presidians recited National Anthem after the grand salute to the national flag. Filled with the spirit of patriotism, they performed passionately on the national song 'Vande Mataram' and gave inspiring speeches on Independence Day. The students also enthusiastically sang patriotic songs like 'We Shall Overcome and Jai Ho'.
Presidians performed amazingly in a skit based on Shaheed Bhagat Singh wherein Bhagat Singh's contributions and struggle for freedom was depicted. Children created a mesmerizing aura with the dramatization. It was wonderful to see the Presidians realize that there is a Bhagat Singh in each one of them who will be a saviour of their beloved motherland. The students took a stand for their country and proudly declared it on the stage.
The occasion was made special with the discussion on origin and importance of yoga. The students were told how yoga originated in India and is healing people across the world today.
The program was an inspiration and motivation for all the Presidians. It fostered the feeling of belongingness in them towards their country.
