PRESIDIANS GIVE A FASCINATING PERFORMANCE ON ARABIAN NIGHTS

In a mesmerising three day Theatre fest called “Nino’s Expresivos” Presidians gave a stupendous performance on the theme Arabian Nights.The event was held at Presidium, Gurgaon from 11 to 13 March. Presidians from Grades Ist, IInd, and IIIrd from Presidium, Gurgaon performed in the event. The event was blessed with the presence of the Hon’ble Chairperson Mrs. Sudha Gupta and other distinguished dignitaries. The event showcased beautiful and engaging theatrical skills of our budding superstars.They enacted the famous story of “Ali Baba aur Chaalis Chor” from the legends of Arabian Nights and engaged the audience throughout the event. The thunderous applause and cheers from the audience motivated our star performers even more. The Chairperson addressed the performers with her inspiring words and applauded them for bringing the adventure of Arabian Nights alive on stage. The dignitaries also praised each performance. They encouraged students and staff to organise more such events to bring out the talent in children and give them the much needed exposure. The three day event was a wonderful spectacle of sheer talent and creativity of our young performers.

PRESIDIUM CELEBRATES MAHASHIVRATRI

Presidians of Grade III from Presidium Dwarka 16B, learnt the significance of the festival of Mahashivratri and performed on the theme in a special assembly hosted on 1 March. The students of Grade III hosted this assembly where they discussed about why and how the festival is celebrated. The students dramatized the essence of the festival and enacted the wedding of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati with beautiful detailing. Taking the theme ahead they also performed the Tandav Nritya signifying Lord Shiva in the form of Nataraj and shared the important features of the dance form. They also took the initiative spread the spiritual message of Shivratri which is essentially self realisation and being one with inner self.

PRESIDIANS ADD ZING AT MOTHER’S PRIDE ANNUAL FEST

The most happening and memorable event of the year, Mother’s Pride Annual Day 2016, celebration was held at Sirifort Auditorium from 25th to 28th February 2016. At the event Presidians participated with full vigour at the Mother’s Pride Annual Fest. In the music genre Presidians rocked songs, karaokes, beautiful Western Duets, Ballets, Tribal Folk Dance, Semi Classical dance, Instrumental, and Violin. Their talent in theatrics was in full bloom as they performed engaging skits, Hasya Kavita, Comedy Acts, Theatrical Performances, and even gave a Gymnastic skills performance too. The crowd cheered and applauded throughout their stupendous performance and the whole atmosphere turned electric.

MADHUBANI PAINTING WORKSHOP CULMINATES AT PRESIDIUM ASHOK VIHAR

Presidium Ashok Vihar, recently organized a four day Madhubani painting workshop in association with Spic Macay. From 19 to 22 February, the students of Presidium Ashok Vihar, were seen indulging in the traditional art and culture of Madhubani. Ms. Shanti Devi, a renowned Mithila painter, was the guest of honor in the event. The objective of the workshop was to help students know and appreciate the ancient art of Madhubani while learning its core values and ethos reflecting our cultural heritage.

The workshop was an amazing and unparalleled experience for the students where they were given a chance to explore their creativity and moulded onto the frames of Mithila Painting. Students also shared their experience of learning this art and also the kind support they received from our honourable guest. The workshop culminated with the Felicitation Ceremony of Ms Shanti Devi, wherein the school thanked her for sharing her talent and knowledge with Presidians. Ms. Kavita Nath, VP – Academics, felicitated her and her team with a token of respect.

PRESIDIUM INDIRAPURAM CLAIMS VICTORY AT SCHOLARS SPORTS CARNIVAL

Presidians from Indirapuram marked their way to glorious win at 'Scholars Sports Carnival' in Delhi Public School, Raj Nagar on 19th February. Our champs bagged Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in Athletics and Skating. Presidian Idaant Tiwari from Nursery, won a Gold medal in 30 Mts., Rutvika Gupta from Prep, won  a Silver medal in 50 Mts., and Harshika Karnail  from Grade 2nd, won a Bronze medal in 60 Mts. Pranay Rajput from Nursery, won a Bronze medal, Kadhvi Jain from Prep, won a Silver Medal, Aditya Raj Singh from Grade 2nd, won a Gold medal, Arnav Rajput from Grade 2nd, won a Bronze medal, Balram Singhal from Grade 3rd, won a Silver medal, and  Shristi Shreya from Grade 3rd, won a Bronze medal. We are proud of our champs! 

PRESIDIANS WITNESS MESMERIZING KATHAK WORKSHOP BY SPIC MACAY

With the motive of spreading awareness and promoting India’s rich culture and heritage, Presidium Dwarka 22 and 16B in collaboration with Spic Macay organized a five day Kathak workshop for the students of Grade 3rd. The workshop was scheduled from Monday, 15th February 2016 to Friday, 19th February 2016, during post school hours.
Ms. Swati Sinha, the renowned Kathak Danseuse, and her three disciples commenced the workshop. During the workshop Ms. Sinha shared interesting anecdotes about the hugely popular classical dance form. The students were engrossed while watching all of them dance in perfect synchrony. The workshop culminated on the fifth day i.e. Friday, in the presence of delighted parents and grandparents. They were mesmerised to witness the performance and the interest of students in Indian cultural heritage. Such workshops not only develop a student’s interest in our rich heritage but also make education even more holistic.

PRESIDIANS EXPLORE THE WORLD OF SPACE

Our budding scientists had a great time exploring the Space, its elements and the equipment used for space travel. Students of Grades Ist to 8th from Presidium, Faridabad participated in the activity and enjoyed making models of Rockets, Meteors and Comets etc. Students used their imaginations extensively and made some beautiful models. They also took delight in learning the skills of observation through a Telescope. The experience was very knowledgeable and exciting for students especially after the Planetarium simulation program they experienced a few days ago.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE BASANT PANCHAMI

12-02-2016

Basant Panchmi is an occasion which marks the onset of the ‘Spring Season’. The festival is also celebrated to worship Goddess Saraswati, the symbol of knowledge and wisdom. To mark the occasion, the students and staff of Presidium Raja Nagar, came dressed in bright yellow coloured clothes on 12 February. Beautiful pieces of Art related to Basant Panchmi were decorated in the atrium and a  rangoli was made which signified the brilliance of nature and the vibrancy of life.

A special assembly was held with the Grade 5th students performing on the ‘Saraswati Vandana’. This was followed by a speech by Kshitij Srivastava of Grade 3rd on the various aspects of the festival. Grade Nursery and Prep gave a delightful group dance performance on the tunes of ‘Maa Saraswati Sharde’ which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Grade 1st students also presented a spiritual song which was followed by a speech by Angad Tyagi of Grade 2nd. It was a colourful celebration enjoyed by all.

There doesn’t have to be special occasions to have fun with your peers and friends. At Presidium, we believe that children should be provided a leisure time to help them develop skills that are crucial for their holistic development. Keeping this approach intact, today we organised a fun filled picnic at school for Presidians of Grade Nursery, Pre Nursery and Prep. The students were excited to enjoy the picnic time and participated in a range of adventurous activities with full enthusiasm. Play time is always fun and gives a chance to children to develop physical strength, dexterity, body coordination and social skills.

PRESIDIANS WITNESS SPECTACULAR DANCE PERFORMANCE AT SPIC MACAY

Presidium Faridabad witnessed a spectacular classical dance performance by senior Manipuri artist Smt. Dhana Rani Devi of Imphal, under the Spic Macay fest series 2016. The well known danseuse is an expert in one of the major Indian Classical dance, Manipuri. It originated in Manipur and is purely religious with its aim being spiritual experience. India is a land which is rich in various dance forms that have been carried worldwide by famous artists. This heritage was brought to light by the performance of Smt. Dhana Rana Devi before the students and the teachers. To witness the performance students from different school were invited. They were inspired by the rich Indian cultural heritage as well as got a deeper knowledge of the classical dance forms. At the event Smt. Dhana Rani also gave an informative lecture demonstration followed by an interactive session in which she enlightened young students about various technicalities of the dance form. The environment was sublimed with festivity. Watching the legend performing in a very exotic style made the fest a great experience for the students as well as teachers.
