PRESIDIANS ENJOY A FUN FILLED PICNIC AT SCHOOL
There doesn’t have to be special occasions to have fun with your peers and friends. At Presidium, we believe that children should be provided a leisure time to help them develop skills that are crucial for their holistic development. Keeping this approach intact, today we organised a fun filled picnic at school for Presidians of Grade Nursery, Pre Nursery and Prep. The students were excited to enjoy the picnic time and participated in a range of adventurous activities with full enthusiasm. Play time is always fun and gives a chance to children to develop physical strength, dexterity, body coordination and social skills.
PRESIDIANS WITNESS SPECTACULAR DANCE PERFORMANCE AT SPIC MACAY
Presidium Faridabad witnessed a spectacular classical dance performance by senior Manipuri artist Smt. Dhana Rani Devi of Imphal, under the Spic Macay fest series 2016. The well known danseuse is an expert in one of the major Indian Classical dance, Manipuri. It originated in Manipur and is purely religious with its aim being spiritual experience. India is a land which is rich in various dance forms that have been carried worldwide by famous artists. This heritage was brought to light by the performance of Smt. Dhana Rana Devi before the students and the teachers. To witness the performance students from different school were invited. They were inspired by the rich Indian cultural heritage as well as got a deeper knowledge of the classical dance forms. At the event Smt. Dhana Rani also gave an informative lecture demonstration followed by an interactive session in which she enlightened young students about various technicalities of the dance form. The environment was sublimed with festivity. Watching the legend performing in a very exotic style made the fest a great experience for the students as well as teachers.
PRESIDIANS ENJOY ADVENTURE SPORTS WORKSHOP
At Presidium, we believe in holistic development of children. With the same objective in mind, the Kooh Sports Academy organised an Adventure Sports workshop at Presidium, Faridabad on 9th February. Sports not only build physical strength but also boost the over-all health of children. The students were excited to experience the workshop. They participated in various sports together and cheered for their friends and classmates. The various activities that were organised for them were: PT, Hoopla rings, and other interesting activities with training and playing field equipment for children. It was an enthralling and adventurous experience for students.
PRESIDIANS EXPERIENCE A MESMERISING CELESTIAL TREAT
Future Scientists and Astronauts of Presidium, Faridabad were given a visual treat of our Celestial World at a unique Planetorium simulation program created especially for them. Presidians observed the panoramic view of our galaxy and the universe. Students were guided through eye catching slides and visuals of various planets, stars and celestial bodies inhibiting the space. The children were awestruck by the wonders that the galaxy holds. The young inquisitive minds thoroughly enjoyed the experience and asked probing questions on the same. It was an enriching experience for the students as they learnt about the wonders of our universe in a truly gripping ambience.
PRESIDIUM’S CHAMPS CLAIM GOLD AT TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP
Taekwondo champions from Presidium, Dwarka 16B, bagged 5 Gold, 6 Silver and 7 Bronze Medals in the New Delhi District Taekwondo Championship 2015-16, held on 6th February 2016, at the Dwarka Puri Hall. Around 250 students from 18 schools and academies participated in the championship organized by the New Delhi District, thereby following the rules and regulations of World Taekwondo Federation. Special acknowledgements for their coaches Mr. Mukesh, Mr. Ajay and Mr. Saurabh, were made at the championship. They were applauded for their hard work with the students and training our champs so well that that we bagged so many laurels in the championship. Kudos to our champs and their Coaches!
LEARNING, AMUSEMENT & ADVENTURE- PRESIDIANS EXPERIENCE IT ALL AT NATIONAL RAIL MUSEUM
In our constant endeavour to provide rich and engaging learning experiences to students, an exciting trip to National Rail Museum was organized for our young Presidians under the theme ‘Vacation’.
All the students seemed extremely excited as they got the opportunity to explore different kinds of engines, trains, coaches and wagons. They also learned about the fuel used to run the trains. The students were also taken to the indoor gallery where they enjoyed watching the working models, equipment, photographs of vintage trains along with the furniture used in trains. They were delighted to see the miniature models of the trains.
The highlight of the day was the joyful ‘Toy Train’ ride organized for the students. They enjoyed singing the song 'chai chai coffee coffee' which is a part of the theme and was shown to them before the visit.
The visit proved to be extremely interesting and knowledgeable for the students. All of them thoroughly enjoyed their day while enhancing their knowledge about one of the most important means of transport- Railway. Read More
PRESIDIUM’S FACULTY MEMBER HONOURED AT UNITED NATIONS@70 CONFERENCE
In yet another proud moment for our Academic Leadership, our esteemed faculty member, Sri Vishal Sagar, PGT Political Science, from Presidium Gurgaon Senior, presented a research paper which has been awarded with the ‘Best Paper of the Conference’ at the ‘UNITED NATIONS @70’ conference. The event was organized by Amity Law School-II, on 4th and 5th February, in collaboration with the Indian Society of International Law at Amity Campus, Noida. It was judged by the distinguished panel including famous personalities like Dr. Narender Singh, Member, International Law Commission; Prof. CSR Murthy, JNU; Prof. SK Verma, Chairperson, International Society of International Law; and Dr. Devyani Khobragade, IFS.
PRESIDIANS RAISE AWARENESS AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING
Global warming is a slow and steady rise in the Earth’s surface temperature. It is a big environmental and social issue all over the world. It’s imperative to know its causes, effects and preventive measures. With the aim of raising awareness against this environmental calamity, the students from Grade Vth of Presidium, Dwarka 16B, came together to raise their voice against it on 2 February.
The students dramatized their theme by personifying the Earth, Sun, its rays and the three harmful gases Carbon dioxide, Methane and Nitrous Oxide. They demonstrated how due to the presence of increased amount of these harmful gases in the atmosphere the Sun rays are unable to escape from Earth’s atmosphere and get trapped there, thus increasing its temperature.
The students discussed different ways to get rid of the harmful gases from our atmosphere. Some of these steps include: Planting as many trees as possible as plants absorb carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, saving electricity by replacing regular light bulbs with CFL bulbs, conserving energy by using energy saving appliances, turning off lights when not in use etc. Read More
PRESIDIUM DWARKA 22 PAYS TRIBUTE TO INDIAN ARMED FORCES
The students of Presidium, Dwarka 22, took pride in paying a TRIBUTE TO INDIAN ARMED FORCES on 1st February, with great enthusiasm, zeal and fervour. The objective behind the celebration was to honour and express gratitude to all those men and women who served their country with bravery, dedication and self sacrifice.
To mark the importance of the day, a special assembly was organized in the school. The day commenced with students singing the National Anthem and presenting patriotic performances that together kept the nationalistic fervour vibrantly alive.
Young Presidians of Grade I paid tribute to soldiers by reciting patriotic poems that evoked feelings of nationalism. The programme concluded with inspiring words of our honourable Vice Principal, Ms. Esha Shaunik, “to create the leaders of tomorrow and make sure the Tricolour of our country soars even higher and raise our own benchmark”. PRESIDIUM GURGAON HOSTS CAREER COUNSELING SESSION FOR STUDENTS
Presidium, Gurgaon hosted a free career counselling session, on 30th January, for the students of Grades 8th, 9th and 10th. The session was conducted by professional counsellors to help students select the subject options in Class 11th. The speakers for the day were Mr. Rajiv Jain, a renowned business management professional with more than 22 years of corporate experience and Mr. Deepak Mukherjee, currently serving as Global Head of Internal Audit at Oil and Gas Construction Multinational owned by Laxmi Mittal. Ms. Kavita Raj was also a part of this esteemed panel.
The event witnessed a gathering of more than 200 people, including students from various schools, like DPS, Amity, and GD Goenka Gurgaon, accompanied by their parents. It was an interactive session where they shared their views on conventional notions about career choices and enlightened the children and parents on the difference between choosing a stream and a career. How it is important to not focus on the “top” colleges and professions, but to focus on choosing a career to fuel one’s passion and interests. Students were also told about various career options available after choosing various streams.
The highlight of the event was the idea that when you are determined to achieve something, no matter what the statistics or achievement tests say, most important is one’s belief in oneself. Read More
