STAGE EXPOSURE OPENS GATEWAY OF LEARNING FOR PRESIDIANS
Imaginative role play has its foundations in creativity. It is a crucial step in promoting intellectual, creative and social development of students as well as aids in the growth of their thought process and language skills. With this aim, Presidians of Grade 1st to 3rd, participated in a role play activity based on the theme ‘Real life heroes’.
Roping in the principal of imaginative role play, Presidians brilliantly portrayed the characters of these heroes like Rani of Jhansi, Tipu Sultan, Baji Rao, Mangal Pandey, Bhagat Singh, Udhham Singh, Kalpana Chawla, Malala Yousafzhai, Neerja Bhanot, Maneka Gandhi, Charlie Chaplin, M.S. Dhoni, Sania Mirza and many more.
It was a real treat to watch our students enact these eminent personalities and their contributions to their motherland. Role play is a learning activity that allows students to explore realistic situations by enacting and creating visual scenarios and interacting with other people. It provides a well defined pathway to significant learning, while allowing students to gain experience and also, encouraging them to understand the various fields of academics like history, literature, art and culture.
PRESIDIUM’S GIRL POWER ENTERS NATIONAL WEIGHT LIFTING CHAMPIOSHIP
With undying commitment for their chosen path, Presidians proved their mettle yet again by qualifying for the National Powerlifting, Bench Press and Deadlift Championship. Our raw powerlifters, Simran Kaur, Yashna Chopra, and Isha Chopra from Presidium Indirapuram, have made us immensely proud by winning at the Delhi State Selection Trials, held at Nangal Raya, Janakpuri, on 5th March.
Our champions were selected in the following weight categories:
· Simran Kaur from Grade 10th was selected in the 57 Kg category.
· Yashna Chopra from Grade 8th was selected in 72 Kg category.
· Isha Chopra from Grade 10th was selected in 84 Kg (plus) category.
They are all set to give a power packed performance at the National Championship to be held in Jammu from 21st to 24th March.
Congratulations to the coaches for their hard work and well done Simran, Yashna and Isha. Best of luck for the Nationals! Go, claim the championship!
THE GOLDEN CITY OF PUNJAB, AMRITSAR WELCOMES PRESIDIANS
School trips can be viewed as a powerful and positive teaching tool that boost academic as well as social development of all learners. With this aim Presidium took the students of Grade 5 on an exciting trip to Amritsar, the golden city of Punjab.
The serenity of the Golden temple and Durgiani temple filled the air with peaceful positive vibes. A visit to the Jalliawala Bagh gave them ample moments for paying tribute to and remembering the martyrs. They also went to the Wagah Border and witnessed the patriotic fervour in the loud cheers of the crowd gathered there. It was a lively trip where the students tremendously enjoyed the jovial ambience and flavours of Amritsar through its delectable food and spirited Punjabi culture.
Learning exists beyond books and the classroom. These trips provide unique opportunities for learning by doing hands on activities outside the classroom and lead to better achievement, standards, motivation, and behaviour in students. They enrich their knowledge about arts, history and culture; and develop love for learning through exploration while creating a wholesome learning experience for them.
TALENTED TITIKSHA ENTERS THE WORLD OF TELEVISION
Our talented young actor, Titiksha Anand of Grade 5, from Presidium Gurgaon, has proved her acting prowess by grabbing a role in the popular TV serials ‘Savdhaan India’ on Life Ok Channel and in ‘Aawaz Insaf Ki’ at Ahmedabad.
Titiksha has had a keen interest in arts and theatre since childhood. She has been actively participating in various talent and modelling shows with famous brands like Pink Cow and All India Fashion Kids Show. In 2014, she was presented the ‘India’s Best Jolly Kid’ award at the India Kids Fashion show, Jaipur; by the well known actress Madhuri Dixit Nene.

THE PINK CITY OF JAIPUR WELCOMES PRESIDIANS
Educational excursions to cultural and historical places provide memorable and immersive learning experiences. These trips provoke imagination, introduce children to unknown worlds and also offer unique environments for recreation. Keeping this in mind, Presidium of Grade 3, went on a trip to Chokhi Dhani in Jaipur, organised by Chapter Earth.
The trip captured the vibrant spirit of Rajasthan and brought with it a unique experience of its rich culture and heritage through the traditional Bani Thani paintings, folk dance performances of Ghumar and Kalbeliya and a visit to City Palace, Jaigarh Fort, Hawa Mehal and Jantar Mantar.
The trip gave the students a chance for close interaction with peers and provided an opportunity of learning through travel, in an informal environment different than the classroom.
PRESIDIUM WIN’S GOLD AT FRENCH OLYMPIAD-NATIONAL & STATE
Team Presidium from Dwarka 16B, celebrated another proud win by claiming a Gold medal at the National French Olympiad and a total of 18 medals-6 Gold, 6 Bronze, and 6 Silver, at the State level.
Our skilled linguist and National level winner, Sunpreet Kaur of Grade VIII, won a Gold Medal in the A2 Level. Sunpreet proudly claimed victory among 964 students from 200 different schools from all over India. She has also been awarded a 9 day paid trip to France with a fun visit to Paris and Rouen. The competition was organised by the Prayatna Educational Society in collaboration with Alliance Française de Rouen.
State level winners: Sunpreet Kaur, Ashutosh Rath, Sia Bhat, Navya Malhotra, Gurnoor Kaur, Utkarsh Abhinav, Anisha Bahl, Jia Singh, Ronita Chakroborty, Amulya Tiwari, Arunima Nath, Prakriti Chabra, Raajvi Khurana, Ananya Sharma, and Epil Grover. They made us proud by their exemplary performances.

H.H. DALAI LAMA’S ADDRESS: ENLIGHTENING EXPERIENCE FOR PRESIDIANS
“Compassion can change the world.” – His Holiness, the Dalai Lama.
The Annual Address by H.H. the Dalai Lama organised by ITIHAAS on 6th February, proved to be an enriching experience for the students of Presidium. In his address to students he said that the basic human nature is compassion and every religion values kindness, love and justice. The people of the world should unite to work together.
He stressed on spreading a sense of oneness of humanity and a spirit of universal responsibility and concern for all irrespective of creed, colour, gender or nationality. Talking about his commitment to peace he said his mission is to promote a sense of unity among all human beings. The address indeed proved to be an enlightening experience for students.
ASHUTOSH’S MASTER STROKE: SELECTED IN CBSE U-19 CRICKET TEAM
Our Cricket sensation, Ashutosh Aggarwal of Grade XII, from Presidium, Ashok Vihar, has been selected in All India C.B.S.E School Cricket U-19 Boys team during the trials held at Agra. He played in the All India School Nationals held at Bombay, and his team beat the All India K. V. Sanghatan and the Tilingana teams.

PRESIDIUM’S SPECTACULAR ANNUAL CULTURAL FEST ENLIVENS SIRI FORT
Presidium’s Future Fest-2017, the most awaited annual cultural extravaganza was held at Siri Fort from 21st-22nd February. The event provided an unparalleled platform to showcase the diverse talents of our students. The two day majestic event took things to a wonderful confluence of art and creativity by our budding artists and performers.
The event was graced by the benign presence of the Hon’ble Chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta. Delighted to see the fine performances, with a deep sense of delight she applauded and praised the students for their skilful and absolutely magical rendition of the quintessential artistic display.
Parents and teachers were overwhelmed and filled with joy to witness the beautiful performances and appreciated the efforts of all the students. The fest was a mesmerizing event where the magnificent talent of our students was at its best.
