The Senior Branch of Presidium, Gurgaon, proudly hosted the Youth Parliament Session on 26th August 2015. Various renowned schools of Gurgaon participated in this event and exhibited innovative ventures, thinking prowess and leadership qualities. The Chief Guest of the occasion, Mr. Vansh Saluja of the Aam Aadmi Party and Mr. Shayer Mazumdar did the honours of adjudging the event.
The Youth Parliament is a support organization of young people which was established in July 2002 by social entrepreneur, Ishita Chaudhry. In sync with this spirit, the proceedings of the Youth Parliament took place in a systematic and organized manner extending a base to conceptualize and execute the initiatives of our students in various fields like socio-cultural, economical, legal and environmental issues.
The Chief Guest was delighted to witness the event and highly appreciated the manner in which the students conducted themselves as young parliamentarians and ‘the leaders of tomorrow’-which is the methodology that our school works on. This event was a sound platform which enables young people to be effective and expressive agents of change. It encourages our students to be true citizens of a democratic country like India-at the same time it increases their awareness of issues of national importance and global concerns. The awards to the winners were given away by the Chairperson of Presidium Mrs. Sudha Gupta. Mrs. Alka Singh the Vice Principal of the school thanked the chief guest and the participating schools.
